Anshul Jubli shared, “In 2015, I initially started MMA as a way to collect certificates while preparing for the Combined Defence Services (CDA) Examination. I had a sense that I might not excel academically, so I wanted to show my selectors that I was utilizing my free time constructively.”

After three years, I realized that my true talent lay in MMA rather than the career I had planned. In 2018, I decided to shift my focus entirely to mixed martial arts. It became evident that I had the potential to achieve great results in this field.

Anshul’s remarkable journey led him to a momentous victory over Jeka Saragih of Indonesia in the final of the Road to UFC competition in Las Vegas this year. During his time at the camp in Las Vegas, Anshul Jubli faced many problems, partly due to his Indian origins.

He revealed that there were doubts and a lack of respect for Indian fighters in the UFC camp. There were whispers that people expected Indian fighters to be mere punching bags in their show’s trailer. This fueled his determination, and he went on to win the tournament, stunning many.

Speaking about his partnership with Timex, Anshul Jubli expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the brand’s support, which played a crucial role in his journey towards earning a UFC contract.”

Teaching background before MMA journey?

Not quite a traditional teacher, but I worked as a tutor. The twist to this tale is that my desire to move to the bustling city of Delhi coincided with my growing passion for MMA. I’d always been athletic, and my interest in the sport had begun to flourish. I even kept journals about it. I found myself constantly seeking new techniques, a true sign of my deep-seated passion.

To make my move to Delhi a reality, I needed funds, and the most practical way was through tutoring, specifically in mathematics. I did this for approximately a year, and my frugal habits allowed me to save up the necessary funds, as I’ve never been one to splurge on extravagant expenses

What is MMA?

MMA has gained significant popularity and has its own set of rules and regulations for competitive matches, with organizations like the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) being some of the most well-known promoters of MMA events.

What is UFC?

The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is the premier global organization for mixed martial arts (MMA). Established in 1993, it hosts a variety of MMA events featuring elite fighters who compete in the Octagon, a distinctive cage. It boasts multiple weight classes for both men and women, crowning champions in each division. Renowned for its production quality, competitive matchups, and fighter promotion, the UFC has played a significant role in propelling MMA to mainstream prominence and has a massive worldwide fan base.
